+ PROJECT OVERVIEW

Phase 1 of the Gowanus Canal storm sewer program installed high-level storm sewers, new catch basins, manholes, and chambers, and replaced aging water mains, followed by full restoration of the roadway, sidewalks, and curbs. The upgrades improve stormwater management, reduce surface flooding, and support better water quality in one of Brooklyn's most environmentally significant neighborhoods.
