We set out to create more than just housing — we aimed to build opportunity, dignity, and lasting impact for the community. Through thoughtful design and deep collaboration, this project is becoming a model for how affordable housing can be both beautiful and resilient.

Vision & Concept

This mixed-income housing development was envisioned as a cornerstone for equitable growth in Westchester County—responding directly to the region’s affordable housing crisis with a thoughtful, community-forward approach. The concept blends affordability, sustainability, and design excellence to create a long-lasting residential environment that serves both individuals and families from diverse income levels.

At its core, the vision centers on permanence and dignity—providing high-quality homes enriched with supportive services and resilient infrastructure. The project aims to foster community integration, economic mobility, and improved quality of life, while remaining sensitive to the surrounding neighborhood context. SRE Engineering’s dual role as co-developer and engineer of record reflects our belief in shaping communities through technically sound, human-centered development.

Design & Construction

SRE Engineering is leading the project through the entitlement, permitting, and civil design phases with a focus on regulatory alignment, sustainability, and constructability. The site plan integrates efficient land use with open communal areas, while complying with complex local and state zoning codes.

The design emphasizes long-term resilience and operational efficiency through energy-efficient building systems, stormwater management strategies, and robust utility planning. SRE’s in-house civil team is delivering full-site engineering, including grading, infrastructure coordination, stormwater design, and utility layouts, while supporting construction management and agency interfacing.

By proactively engaging with municipal agencies and community stakeholders, we’re ensuring the development meets stringent compliance standards without compromising design integrity or community needs.

Final Outcome

While the project is currently in the pre-construction phase, its anticipated outcome is a $65 million residential development that sets a new precedent for inclusive housing in Westchester County. With 100 units of supportive and mixed-income housing, plus ground-floor commercial activation, the project is designed to anchor long-term neighborhood stability.

Upon completion, the development will offer durable, energy-efficient housing supported by integrated social services and transit access. It will also feature safe pedestrian circulation, green infrastructure, and high-performance public utility systems—all coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure smooth operations post-occupancy.

This project exemplifies SRE Engineering’s ability to navigate high-profile, community-sensitive developments with precision and care—bringing together public-private partnerships, resilient engineering, and inclusive design for lasting social impact.
